A network of 60 CR10X-based monitoring stations was installed bythe Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) to provideinformation essential to the effective operation of a hydropowerplant. The stations monitor hydrological and meteorologicalparameters including rainfall, water temperatures, and water levelsof rivers and steams. One station monitors water level of a riverand provides gate control to ensure levels are high enough tomaintain a viable habitat for fish. Data are transmitted via radioand microwave communications to a computer in Sacramento runningWonderware's InTouch software.
